EXECUTIVE SUMMARY – ANCORACÁ ROUTES
Ancoracá Routes is a community-based tourism project in Ancash, Peru, designed to offer authentic cultural and nature experiences through short tours, local food, and guest-house accommodation. The mission is to deliver affordable, meaningful travel for visitors while generating sustainable income for local families and supporting local culture.
The market analysis shows growing demand among travelers aged 25–45 who prefer small-scale, culturally authentic, and budget-friendly tourism. We estimate around 60 % of the first year’s clients will come from domestic travelers and 40 % from international visitors, reflecting current tourism trends in the region.
Our start-up costs are modest. Roughly 65 % of the initial capital will be used to prepare and furnish the guest house (beds, furniture, safety, basic amenities), and the remaining 35 % will cover marketing, safety equipment, operational setup, and permit costs. Because the fixed investment is low and operations are simple, the business can scale financially without large risk.
According to our financial projections, if we maintain an average occupancy rate of about 50 % during the first 8–10 months, we can cover operating costs. With occupancy near 75 %, the project should achieve a net profit margin close to 25–30 % by the end of Year One. This level of profitability shows that Ancoracá Routes can be viable with careful management and realistic demand.
Our marketing strategy uses digital platforms (Instagram, WhatsApp, TikTok) and direct communication to reach young travelers who value culture, affordability, and authenticity. Operations rely on local guides and hosts, which keeps labour costs low and helps ensure a genuine local experience. The small-group approach and local involvement give us a competitive advantage over large-scale tourism services. In summary, Ancoracá Routes combines a low-cost, flexible setup with clear market demand for cultural and nature tourism.
The project balances business viability with social impact, offering a practical path forward for sustainable tourism in Ancash. If funding and preparations are completed on schedule, we are ready to launch the first tour packages and accommodation service, monitor early demand closely, and grow step by step, both as a business and a community.
